The NDIS workers screening check is a mandatory check conducted by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission Worker Screening Unit in your state or territory. The NDIS Worker Screening Check determines whether a person is cleared or excluded from working in certain roles with people with disability. The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission charges $120 for the workers screening check application. Refer to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission website for more information and to apply for the screening.
To complete your account registration, you will need to provide:
- Personal contact details (name, email, address, date of birth, etc.)
- Company details: ABN and GST registration numbers
- Service details: select the services and the rates that you wish to provide
- Identity verification: 100 points of ID
- NDIS worker screening check (yellow card): required to provide service to NDIS participants
- NDIS authorisation to work with children (blue card): required only if you wish to provide service to children
- Qualifications: Verification of your professional qualifications (applicable only for certain professional services)
- Banking details: so that we can pay you
To complete your account registration, you will need to provide:

- NDIS plan details (plan number, start date, etc.)
- Payment details (choose between credit card, direct debit, or google pay)
Empower is designed by providers, for providers. You will be empowered to build your own business without worrying about the administrative burden of business development, marketing, billing, scheduling, and record keeping. So you can focus on doing what you do best.
After you register, you have the freedom to set your own prices for your services, up to the NDIS-stipulated maximums. We charge a 30% service fee on all your appointment earnings. We're confident that building your business on Empower will increase your earnings potential relative to conventional employment.
Empower is completely free to use for Participants. Service providers set their own fees for their services, and appointments are scheduled, delivered, and paid through Empower. We earn a small fee on the appointment income earned by service providers.

The NDIS provides funding to eligible people based on their individual needs.
Every NDIS participant has an individual plan that lists their goals and the funding they have received. NDIS participants use their funding to purchase supports and services that will help them pursue their goals.
Everyone has different goals but they could include things like getting and keeping a job, making friends or participating in a local community activity. NDIS participants control the support they receive, when they receive it, and who provides it.
